Learn a new foreign language in 2018!

In this modern world, boundaries between countries are mere virtual curved lines drawn on the globe to make it look colorful. I do not see any other usage. Do you?

The internet has brought worlds together and along with that, the people living in different parts of the world came together as well. These people bring along their custom, costume, culture and most importantly, their language.

Language is one of the most important belongings of any human being in this world. Everyone is proud of his or her own language, or the mother tongue, to be specific. There were historical wars held in different parts of the world based on language.

The man (el hombre, in Spanish) loves his language a lot. No other language is as dear to someone other than her mother tongue.

So, just think how easy it will be to win over someone if you speak in her mother tongue? It will be super easy! Isn’t it?

When we interact with people from a different region or a different country and if we can converse in the other person’s language, the interpersonal bonding develops very fast and stays for a long time. This is a proven truth.

Just try to visualize a situation. Suppose you visit Vietnam and you are on a trip to a remote village which has some breathtaking views and you have traveled a long distance for days to reach there. While taking a casual stroll around your cottage, one fine evening, you find someone waving at you and when you two come nearer, he talks to you in Hindi or in Bengali (or in your mother tongue).

How happy will you be? You will be ecstatic! Well, most people will be feeling so.

And for the same reason, if you speak to someone from another country in his language, he will feel awesome too.

Bonding – talking in the other person’s language helps in quick bonding and can kickstart your relationship, whether that is just a casual friendship or a planned business interaction. Talking in the other person’s language gives you an edge over those who cannot.

This is why learning and speaking in a foreign language can help you.

And this is not the only reason. There are many more benefits of learning a foreign language in 2018. This is the year to put an impact on! Isn’t it?

There are a lot of languages spoken around the world. Which one should you learn? Well, you learn based on your need.

The organization that you work for must be working with some other organization from a particular country. If that is not an English-speaking nation, you can learn their language. That is a professional front.

If you want to just learn a language which can be fruitful to you in future, but may not have much impact on you right now, you can check the list of most spoken languages in the world. And you can pick whichever language you want to learn.

You may also choose one of the languages which people say are easiest to learn for the people of India. It all depends on your need or desire, actually.

There are multiple ways of learning a language. You may choose a mode as per your requirements, capability, and availability. But ensure that you stay in contact with the language and surround yourself with it as much as possible. Practice every day without miss even though you are learning very little.

If you are on a trip or in another country for a reason and you are learning their language, you may also think of keeping a dictionary with you all the time. That helps!

Now, I have found an app called Duolingo, which is just awesome. I have an app review video on YouTube for this app which you can visit and check out.

So, in the end, I can say that you must learn a new language for a lot of reasons and there are ways to learn as well, from the comfort on your home and on your much-loved smartphone as well.
